Total Battle Troop Stacking Tables by Leadership Cap
How to Read These Tables
All tables use the 1.9× multiplier standard with 3 shield tiers below the primary — the setup used by most competitive players.
- Primary: Your highest-tier Guardsmen (the troops you’re protecting)
- S1: Shield tier 1 (one tier below primary)
- S2: Shield tier 2 (two tiers below primary)
- S3: Shield tier 3 (three tiers below primary)
Sum factor for 3 shields: 13.369
Use the Total Battle Calculator to generate stacks for any leadership cap and tier automatically.
100,000 Leadership
| Primary Tier | Primary | S1 | S2 | S3 | Total Used |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| G6 | 7,481 | 14,214 | 27,006 | 51,311 | 100,012 |
| G5 | 7,481 | 14,214 | 27,006 | 51,311 | 100,012 |
| G4 | 7,481 | 14,214 | 27,006 | 51,311 | 100,012 |
| G3 | 7,481 | 14,214 | 27,006 | 51,311 | 100,012 |
Note: troop counts are identical regardless of primary tier — the formula only cares about leadership cap and number of shield tiers. Tier identity affects power per troop, not count.

Two-Shield Stack Reference (All Leadership Caps)
For players who lack enough lower-tier troops for 3 shields, a 2-shield stack is still significantly better than no stacking.
Sum factor for 2 shields: 1 + 1.9 + 3.61 = 6.51

Effective HP Comparison: Stacked vs Unstacked
To illustrate the value of stacking, assume G6=100 HP/unit, G5=80 HP, G4=60 HP, G3=40 HP:
500K Leadership, G6 only (unstacked):
G6 × 500,000 = 50,000,000 total HP
500K Leadership, G6 primary + 3 shields (stacked):
G6 × 37,403 @ 100 HP = 3,740,300
G5 × 71,066 @ 80 HP = 5,685,280
G4 × 135,025 @ 60 HP = 8,101,500
G3 × 256,549 @ 40 HP = 10,261,960
Total effective HP = 27,789,040
A stacked army has 27.8M effective HP vs 50M for an unstacked G6 army — but the stacked version protects its G6 primary troops completely until all shields die. The G6 core absorbs no damage until 256,549 + 135,025 + 71,066 = 462,640 troops are killed first.
The unstacked G6 army starts losing its valuable troops from the very first hit.
Next Steps
Once you know your target troop counts:
- Compare to what you currently have trained
- Prioritize training the deficit tier (usually primary and first shield tier first)
- Recheck your counts every time your leadership cap increases
For detailed guidance on applying these numbers to a march, see the Troop Stack Building Guide.
