How to Read This Chart
All yardages assume:
- Top: 44” WOF (42” usable), 15% waste
- Backing: 44” WOF (42” usable), 4” overhang per side
- Binding: 2.25” double-fold strips from 42” WOF
Round all figures up to the nearest ⅛ yard when shopping.

Fat quarters work well for quilt tops but are not suitable for backing (too narrow for panel cutting).
