What Each Value Means

Bust / Chest (inches or cm)
Measured around the fullest part of the chest, parallel to the floor. For women: over the fullest part of the bust. For men: around the chest at the widest point, usually just below the armpits.
Waist (inches or cm)
Measured around the natural waistline — the narrowest point of the torso, usually 1–2 inches above the belly button. Do not suck in or pull tight.
Hips (inches or cm)
Measured around the fullest part of the hips and seat, usually 7–9 inches below the natural waist. Keep the tape parallel to the floor.
Drop (tablecloth) (inches or cm)
The overhang on each side of the table — how far the tablecloth hangs below the table edge. Standard casual drop is 8–10 inches; formal dinner is 15–18 inches; floor-length is 29–30 inches for a standard 30-inch table height.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I find my clothing size?
Measure your bust/chest, waist, and hips in inches or centimeters. Compare to the size chart: US women's S = bust 33–34.5", waist 26–27", hips 36–37.5". Enter your measurements above and the calculator finds the best-fitting size across US, UK, EU, and AU standards.
What is the difference between US and UK clothing sizes?
UK women's sizes are 4 numbers higher than US numeric sizes. US size 6 = UK size 10. US size 12 = UK size 16. For men's, US and UK letter sizes (S/M/L/XL) are the same; numeric sizes like trousers differ by waist measurement only.
How do I convert US clothing sizes to EU sizes?
Women's: US 0=EU 32, US 4=EU 36, US 8=EU 40, US 12=EU 44, US 16=EU 48. Men's: US S=EU 44/46, US M=EU 48/50, US L=EU 52/54, US XL=EU 56/58. EU sizes are based on body measurements in centimeters.
What size tablecloth do I need?
Tablecloth size = table length + (drop × 2) by table width + (drop × 2). For a 72×36" table with a 12" drop: 72+(12×2)=96" long, 36+(12×2)=60" wide. Standard drops: 8–10" casual, 12–15" dinner, 29–30" floor length.
How do I measure my clothing size at home?
Use a soft tape measure. Bust: measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping tape parallel to the floor. Waist: measure around your natural waist (smallest point, above the hips). Hips: measure around the fullest part, about 8 inches below the waist. Always measure over underwear only, not over clothing.
What is a US size 10 in UK and EU?
US women's size 10 = UK size 14 = EU size 42. Bust fits approximately 35.5", waist 28", hips 38.5". This is a US medium (M). Note: sizes vary by brand — always check the brand's specific size chart for accurate fit.
How do I find kids' clothing sizes?
US kids' sizes run from 2T (18 months–2 years) to 16 (13–15 years). Height is the most reliable indicator. Size 6 = height 44–47 inches, size 10 = height 52–56 inches. Weight is a secondary check. Always measure chest, waist, and inseam when listed on the garment.
