What Each Value Means
- Bust / Chest (inches or cm)
- Measured around the fullest part of the chest, parallel to the floor. For women: over the fullest part of the bust. For men: around the chest at the widest point, usually just below the armpits.
- Waist (inches or cm)
- Measured around the natural waistline — the narrowest point of the torso, usually 1–2 inches above the belly button. Do not suck in or pull tight.
- Hips (inches or cm)
- Measured around the fullest part of the hips and seat, usually 7–9 inches below the natural waist. Keep the tape parallel to the floor.
- Drop (tablecloth) (inches or cm)
- The overhang on each side of the table — how far the tablecloth hangs below the table edge. Standard casual drop is 8–10 inches; formal dinner is 15–18 inches; floor-length is 29–30 inches for a standard 30-inch table height.
